Like Herrings and Onions #8: Fin Talkback

The cover for the final issue of the webcomic "e;Like Herrings and Onions,"e; featuring Helen Ethanson placed against a red-jeweled background. The cover is designed like a piece of funerary collateral.

The issue marks the return of Like Herrings and Onions, the first issue in almost half a decade following the release of "Pandemic" on April 25, 2020. As you're probably aware, a lot has changed since then, mainly in regards to cultural attitudes and sociopolitical alienation.

So much as changed, in fact, I feel that LHAO, whose final form was developed in 2014, based on politics around 2011, and released in 2017, would no longer feel topical in today's woke/post-woke world. I even feel that it would severely out-of-touch and be lumped in with the other, lesser left-wing mockery of the right you can see on many a modern late night talk show, or some other left-wing meme (though I will admit that, even with my criticisms of it, the entirety of LHAO is better than any of those).

Therefore, I am officially announcing that this issue will be the final issue of the series. No new issues with be added to either DoorJam Creations or DeviantArt after this one. Even so, I'm not entirely sure of the fate of the series' world here. I'm conflicted on whether I should only now do standalone gags to be published on dA and social media, recreate a new series based on this but updated for modern audiences (although that might have the risk of ending up being dated by the time I finally get to creating it), or just stop it altogether.

I might leave the comic on DJC and I will definitely leave them up on dA. I might also place the entire series on the Internet Archive, too.

This issue is also split into two parts, A and B, due to the length of the issue and the weird thing with Wix where galleries seem to show only 14 images at once for some reason. I thought I found a solution to this some time ago, but it doesn't appear to work now (possibly due to Wix updates?).
