The cover for the 12th issue of "Americus Video," named "Funeral Home Funhouse." It, along with the whole issue, was made in Krita.

Americus Video marks its grand return in 3 years with a severely violated fairy tale, along with a new method of comic creation. The method in question is the software Krita.

I got inspiration to use new software after traveling to the Anime Superhero forums after the release of the first Mulberry issue in 2024 on Platypus Comix. On the forums, creator Peter Paltridge revealed that he switched from Photoshop (which I also happened to use for my webcomics at the time) to a software called Clip Studio Paint. He later elaborated on it with the release of a July issue of Free Spirit, saying that it had more time-saving techniques compared to the Adobe software.

I looked up Clip Studio Pro and, while I found it had much potential, there ended up being no free version I could use. So, I searched the internet for a freeware equivalent and discovered Krita.

As I am wont to do, I looked up how it works on its main site and viewed some video tutorials before actually downloading and using Krita. Ultimately, I decided to use this issue as the first one to use Krita and to get used to and experiment with the software. The latter is most obvious with the abstract cover for this issue.

The main inspiration for the story itself came to me recently when I reconverting one of my childhood Winnie the Pooh tapes, Un-Valentine's Day, into a digital, stereo file. After the eponymous special on the tape, there's a bonus cartoon, "Three Little Piglets," in which Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, and Tigger read what turns into a warped (and hysterical) version of The Three Little Pigs.
